Baker-30E, Breen-1253 variety, one of less than 20 known of this rare issue.

An interesting piece, and the only colonial edge variant of any type in any series which can be seen from the obverse and reverse even when the coin resides in a slab.

The piece itself is a rich mahogany brown with hard, proof-like surfaces and a just a couple of minor marks here and there. Sharply struck for this type with a strong shoulder epaulet – far, far better than what is normally seen on this type, including some we’ve seen in higher grade holders.

This one is about as sharp and a bit more lustrous than the Norweb example of this rare type (also graded MS63 by PCGS) that we handled a few months ago.
