Edlitz-1129 variety, struck in silver plated white metal. Designed by US Mint Engraver Anthony Pacquet in the same dramatic 3-D style as the Wiener medals of the period, though this is made in the U.S. and much larger at a full 80mm in diameter and 10mm thick.
With CONSECRATED JUNE 30, 1890 above the edifice as sometimes seen on this type.
And this is as nice as any example we’ve ever offered of this popular issue, with fresh silver surfaces and old golden and gray toning in the devices.
