Here we have actual shipwreck treasure from the wreck of the El Cazador (The Hunter!), a ship sailing from Vera Cruz to New Orleans with a cargo of freshly minted coins in the Winter of 1784.

Unfortunately, the voyage didn’t go all that well, the ship sank, and all aboard perished. On a more positive note, these sad events make this listing possible on our site – and a cool listing it is, with a stack of five 1784 silver Eight Reales fused together with coral and a sea shell sticking out the side like a megaphone. Seriously.

We had our choice of several neat clusters of coins from the wreck and picked out what we thought was the coolest one.
