We’ve always thought ancient coins were cool, but we never took the plunge and put one on the site.  Until now! 

About the size of a US Quarter, with an obverse portrait of Anna Perenna, the Roman Goddess of long life and renewal, while the reverse chariot scene depicts Victory in Quadriga, possibly symbolic of divine support for the Romans’ recent conquering of Southern France.

The piece itself is a nice silvery gray with some pretty blue, russet and golden toning on the obverse.

Extremely old, but not too expensive.
