A striking (startling even) bronze medal by Belgian engraver Eugène J. de Bremaecker (as so indicated by his flourishy signature on both sides) circa 1911.  38mm.

With an anatomically correct skull surrounded by the legend VANITE QU’ES-TU? (VANITY, WHAT ARE YOU?) on one side and a portrait of a woman on the other (inside of which we can conclude the aforementioned skull resides).

In all, a cool, deep, interesting and macabre piece guaranteed to impress the attendees at your next coin club meeting.  I think.
