One of the interesting 19th century Jacques Wiener series of cathedral medals featuring the exterior view on one side and a dramatic 3-D interior view on the other. 50mm.
This particular piece features the cathedral of Notre Dame (Our-Lady), built between 1251 and 1541 in the small city of Tongeren, Belgium.
Included is what appears to be a contemporary leather case which is in very nice condition (unlike most we’ve seen through the years), lined in jaunty blue-green velvet and light green silk and featuring a brass locking mechanism which works perfectly (a first for your author).
