One of a series of interesting Masonic medals struck circa 1795 by the chapter of the Lodge of Perfect Equality in Rouen, France.
The second (and rarer) variant we’ve handled of this type with two two skeletons on the obverse, one crowned, standing between columns labeled as ‘J’ on the left (for Jachin Pillar symbolizing King Solomon) and ‘B’ on the right (Boaz, symbolizing King David). Here mated to an elegant sworded swan reverse.
And this is another lovely example, with sharp detail and colorful old toning in the devices.
