KM-Tn9, W-1705 variety, considered to be Rarity-6.
Struck for Francis Lovelace, second Governor of New York(e), with the intricate obverse design an allegorical rebus on his name (in the form of Cupid using the lace of love on Psyche), while the reverse bears his family crest and, importantly, what we believe is the earliest appearance of both NEW YORK and AMERICA on any colonial coin or token.
And while many of the ~20 known survivors of this type are damaged, corroded, holed or very low grade, this is a charming VF with nice detail well highlighted by the deeper brown fields and lighter golden brown devices.
