Breen-1146 variety (and not the typically seen Breen-1145). This is the very rare type struck on a broad, oval planchet and considered to be Rarity-8 with just 2 known according to Breen.
And this is one of the two he noted, since this is the actual coin illustrated in the 1988 Breen Encyclopedia to represent this issue.
The piece itself is a pleasing and very bold golden brown with a massive ring of deep denticles neatly framing the entire obverse and reverse.
Ex Breen Encyclopedia, as noted, coin #1146; earlier Lester Merkin, earlier from England.
