A striking Augustus AR Denarius with a most excellent depiction of Halley’s Comet on the reverse.

You see, Caesar died in 44 BC and was declared a God by the Roman senate soon thereafter.  Then, during games held in his honor, the comet coincidentally appeared, which was seen at the time as confirmation of Caesar’s divinity and thus a suitable motif for the reverse of a coin.

The piece itself is a bold, original and frankly divine high end XF.
