Briggs 1-A, the so-called Cancelled Die variety, with the long die scratch through Ms. Liberty’s mid-section suggesting that this die was cancelled, and then later pressed back into service.

The good news is that these dies then produced this very pleasing, original, coin gray and old golden toned Choice AU example of this last year of Carson City quarters.
