Certainly one of the most appealing designs of this era, with a diaper-clad, flag-waving infant America clutching a fistful of lightning bolts and riding an eagle like a boss, here mated to the J.A. Bolen Die Sinker reverse.

And this is the finest example we’ve ever seen of this rare issue, with superb proof-like surfaces and fabulous cobalt blue, violet and golden orange toning.
