A tough date in this series and, importantly, one that was not well represented in Stack’s Bowers series of Fairmont sales. Indeed, the only example we could find there was a F15 CAC coin described by them thusly:

Examples such as this are rarely offered and it is sure to sell for a strong premium to an astute collector of Liberty Head gold coinage.

That piece realized $3,600 in that offering, making this choice XF example an important offering for the specialist.
