One of two varieties seen of this date, the other being FS-302, the so-called Inverted Date. And while FS-302 is considered rare and desirable, the present FS-301 is much, much tougher, with a boldly repunched date as seen in our mega-close up image:

The finest example of FS-301 to come to auction was this non-CAC MS62 coin sold at Heritage in January of 2022 where it realized $5,040.

But this superb, original, old toned, old holdered MS65 CAC coin exceeds that one by a numismatic mile, and simply has to be among the finest known examples of this rare issue.
