HT-18, Low-60 variety, 28mm. Considered to be Rarity-2.
A neat satirical token issued after Daniel Webster’s speech to Congress on the bank failures in May of 1837 in which he requested a constitutional need for a system of currency convertible into specie at the will of the holder.
With the obverse displaying Webster ideals as a ship on calm seas, whereas the reverse portrays the Van Buren "Experiment" as a ship going down in a storm.
The piece itself is lovely and choice with a better strike than typically seen on this issue.
