A scarce and popular edge variant, and one that was only made in this one year.  

There is some controversy among experts in the Bust Half arena as to what the “III” edge signifies.  Was it an ‘experimental edge’, as was thought in the past?  Unlikely.  Was it to cover an error in the wording or some other mistake?  No one is quite sure so far, but we can say that it is scarce and popularly collected Redbook variety. 

And this is an especially crusty, deeply toned example with a lighter patch on Ms. Liberty’s cheek.
