1804 Dime, ANACS graded XF-40. This is the 13 Star reverse type, JR-1 die variety, considered to be Rarity-5. Obverse devices and fields are awash in electric blue at the center, with gold and lilac tones at the peripheres. A ring of peach and electric blue toning frames a light gray and rather attractive center. This is the very specimen tha! t was deacessioned from the Gardner Collection of the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society collection, sold by Stack’s earlier this year. It realized $21,850 in that sale. An amazing opportunity.
