Breen-1059, W-9110 variety, struck in Copper with a Reeded Edge consisting of wide, even reeding.
This one of just a couple of known Pure Originals struck in the 18th century from the original dies in their original state with no evidence of the die rust which would soon form near the pot handle on the reverse (and which is seen on nearly every other original Castorland which comes to market). Notably this example is struck in Coin Turn as is always the case on Pure Originals.
The piece itself is a lovely, natural chocolate brown with choice surfaces and excellent eye appeal.
