Baker-29D, W-10950 variety, Small Buttons, Reeded Edge type.

While the 1795 Washington Grate ½p is an issue commonly seen in the numismatic marketplace, nearly every one of them is the Large Buttons, Reeded Edge variety.  This Small Buttons, Reeded Edge variant is a distinct and much tougher Redbook variety that is especially hard to find in high grade.

And this is a very nice example with pleasing chocolate brown color, faded mint red in the devices and excellent eye appeal, with just one lone MS64 BN example graded higher at PCGS.
