W-8620 variety.
Not a rare issue, but this one is a lovely, totally original piece traced to Stack’s significant (though not terribly famous) June 1973 sale of the Briesland Collection where it was described as follows:
"A perfectly centered and well struck specimen, with a good deal of mint red still adhering. Overall a medium tan color. Uncirculated."
To which we can only add that this coin looks to have been very carefully preserved in the 39 years since that description was written.
Ex Stack’s June 1973 sale of the Briesland Collection, as noted, lot #837.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
