W-10650 variety, one of just 29 different examples we have definitively traced in our proprietary census research, and as such a surprisingly rare and underrated issue in the Washington series.

And this is a fantastic coin, the very finest known to us, and by far and away the sharpest we’ve ever seen.  Indeed, the shoulder epaulet and edges of the design elements and lettering are especially crisp, with even the raised oval spot in the field to the left of Washington’s portrait (caused by die rust and seen on all genuine examples) all but unworn.

About as well centered as you’ll find, too, as these were all struck on planchets just a little too small for the design.

The color is a lustrous mahogany brown with shades of blue toning, and quite attractive as such.

We could wax poetic about this coin for a few more paragraphs, but suffice it to say that it is, to the best of our knowledge, unimprovable at any price.
