A most unusual example struck on an exceptionally broad and heavy planchet and described as a "Jumbo" by Stack’s cataloger Michael Hodder in the 2004 Ford sale.
In our view, this is the quintessential Mott type coin, big and bold as all get out, struck from an early state of the dies with no trace of the die break on the clock on the obverse and with a very sharp eagle on the reverse.
This was the finest single Mott in the aforementioned Ford sale, the largest, most comprehensive collection of these pieces ever offered.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
