Ryder 1-D, W-6190 variety, Period After Massachusetts type. Considered to be Rarity-3 as an issue, but more like R-8 in the incredible state of preservation seen here.
This is the sole highest graded example of this type at PCGS, with lustrous original surfaces, sublime chocolate brown color and much mint red lingering in the devices on the obverse and reverse.
Ex Heritage’s January 2015 sale of the Donald Groves Partrick Collection, lot #5711; earlier Bowers March 1988 sale of the Norweb Collection, lot #2658.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC (after the slab photo was taken).
