KM-564.9 variety, Louis XVI type. Struck at the Bayonne mint.
One of the classic 18th century world crowns and a type we always try find in nice shape. But it’s tough, since this issue is often found weakly struck, cleaned, damaged, spotted and/or with Edward Scissorhands-style adjustment marks all over it.
And while this one has adjustments, they are relatively minor for the issue, restricted to the reverse and totally overwhelmed by the lovely old toning, choice surfaces and excellent eye appeal of this piece.
