K.8, M.JAB-37. Silver. Considered to be Rarity-8.

An exceptional example of Bolen’s mid-19th century restrike of the extremely rare George Clinton Cent.

This piece is one of just 3 known restrikes in this metal, with one of the remaining 2 examples permanently impounded in the American Numismatic Society.

A lovely, original silvery-gray with shimmering luster and pretty iridescent rose and pale green toning. We have not seen the other 2 known examples, but cannot imagine that they are more attractive than this piece.

Sharply and evenly struck over an 1819 US Capped Bust Quarter, with the undertype clearly evident on both the obverse and reverse and the date boldly visible beneath Clinton’s bust.

A fascinating piece, desirable on many levels and, once sold, an opportunity very, very unlikely to be repeated.
