An old friend first handled by us years ago and eventually sold to the owner of the Julianna Rose Collection of Fugio Coppers.  When that collection was dispersed at a Bowers auction in March of 2010 we tried hard to buy this coin back but were outbid by a determined collector.  Lo and behold this piece surfaced again last month where we were not going to be denied.

And why not?  Because this is one of our favorite Fugios, with a sharp and full strike, superb red brown color, an old holder ensuring that this coin is stable and, in our view, legitimate claims to 65 RB.
