Miller 1.2-C, W-2720 variety, the distinctive Mutton Head type characterized by an odd obverse portrait, and a numismatically scandalous topless reverse figure. Considered to be Rarity-3.
And this is a tough type to find in high grade, with just two AU55s at PCGS, and this sole AU50. Interestingly (to us, anyway), a high percentage of surviving Mutton Heads exhibit ‘museum markings’ in the form of attribution letters painted in the obverse fields.
But this one is unmarked, with nice surfaces, and more complete legends than are often found on this type.
