Ryder-6, W-2020 variety, considered to be Rarity-3, though more like Rarity-8 in the incredible condition seen here.

One of the classic designs in the colonial series, with a charming, folk art depiction of Vermont’s Green Mountains that is unlike any other issue of the time.

And this is a superb example, with lovely, choice chocolate brown color, hard smooth surfaces, a sharp and even strike and, in all, about the best representation of this design one could ever hope to obtain.

Ex Stack’s October 2003 sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part I, lot #19; earlier F.C.C. Boyd; earlier Hillyer Ryder and the famous 1914 ANS Exhibition of exceptional Colonial Coinage; earlier S.H. & H. Chapman’s May 1906 sale of the Harlan P. Smith Collection, lot #82.
