Crosby 4-C, W-1900 variety, considered to be Rarity-5 and as such the rarest of the "regular" Nova die varieties.
Just acquired by us in an old New England collection, this is a piece that is extremely difficult to locate in the pleasing, problem-free condition seen here. Indeed, the most recent relevant sales record we can recall is the inferior example offered as lot #81 in Goldberg’s February 2007 auction, a coin which realized $3,910 more than 5 years ago.
So this one seems like a pretty decent deal in comparison.
$3,475
