Crosby 3-B, W-1895 variety, CONSTELLATIO, Pointed Rays. Considered to be Rarity-2.
The finest example we’ve seen of this variety, this is an incredible, original, gem uncirculated example with superb, lustrous surfaces, lovely golden brown color and tinges of mint red in the devices on both the obverse and reverse.
This example is also struck from an early state of these dies, with razor sharp obverse rays and just a few traces of minor die rust on the reverse.
Ex Bowers May, 1996 sale of the Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. Collection, lot #53.
