Breen-1198, W-10410 variety, a scarce issue in the Washington series and a piece which is never found in very high grade. 

Indeed, the finest example we knew of (before this one) is a coin in a PCGS AU50 holder that resides in the advanced Washingtonia collection of a good client. 

But this one exceeds that piece by a numismatic mile, with sharp detail, intricate die lines and evidence of die rust in the fields and, in our view, legitimate claims to mint state.

In all, superb (and quite possibly unimprovable) for the issue.

PCGS has graded a total of 26 of this issue, with this lone AU58 as the single finest and no other better than AU50.
