Baker-1, W-10130 variety, considered to be Rarity-1.
One of the very finest known of this enigmatic issue, this example first surfaced as a raw coin back in Stack’s March, 2002 auction, lot #38, where it was described as follows:
"Gem Uncirculated. A lovely example of the type, toned deep brown with iridescent rose and blue in the luster."
To which we would add that the luster here is unlike any we’ve seen on this type, even high grade examples of which tend to be brown "sliders".
And apparently PCGS agrees, since this is only the second 64 they have certified of the 300 examples graded of this type, with none finer.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
