Kenney-4, Musante JAB-10, W-14275 variety, circa 1864 Bolen-Edwards Copy struck in Brass. Considered to be Low Rarity-7.
An attractive copy of the Higley Three Hammers type struck by Dr. Edwards from dies acquired by Bolen. And while these are seen from time to time in copper, this is one of just a couple of brass examples we’ve ever seen or know about.
With another like-graded example appearing earlier this year at Heritage, though differing from the present piece in two ways:
1. That one had a large carbon spot on the reverse, and
2. It still sold for more than we are asking for this one at $2,880
Making this a neat opportunity, and a pretty good deal in our admittedly biased view.
