Excluding the unique THE WHEELE GOES ROUND Higley, this VALVE ME AS YOU PLEASE obverse type is the rarest in the series with just 2 or 3 examples known.

And while this piece is well worn, and has some ancient thin scratches on the obverse and reverse, the planchet is far better than average for this series, the color is pleasing and the the all-important VALVE in the obverse legend is remarkably bold.

While one might wish for much stronger detail and finer surfaces, to the best of our knowledge such a piece does not exist – if it did, it would sell for many multiples of our asking price.
