Gad.339, Br.309 variety, the same type that were recovered from the Le Chameau, a French supply ship which sank off the coast of Nova Scotia while en route to the French Colonies of North America.

But this piece is not from that vessel, and clearly never spent time under water.  In fact, this is one of the most beautiful, vibrant, original gold coins we’ve ever seen of any kind. 

Incredibly fresh, with full luster, stunning golden-orange color and some pretty coppery toning on both the obverse and reverse.
