A charming, quarter-sized, 339 year-old, silver issue with a cartoon portrait on the obverse and a radiant Madonna and child on the reverse. 

And while this is not a rare type, most we’ve seen are dipped white or sickly gray, while this is an extremely appealing example with lustrous surfaces and dramatic iridescent blue, violet and golden toning.
