Noe-8, W-740, Monogram NE variety, middle die state. Considered to be Rarity-4.
A handsome, silvery gray example of one of the more aesthetic varieties in this series, this piece can be traced to Bowers December, 1977 sale of the Donald F. Herdman Collection, lot #5011, where it was described as follows:
"Extremely Fine. Exceptional delineation of features, as illustrated. Pine Tree Shillings of this boldness are seldom encountered."
Nice for type, relatively affordable, and looking exactly as it did when sold some 33 years ago.
