Noe-19, W-850 variety, considered to be Rarity-5.

This is a relatively scarce issue not often seen seen in the numismatic marketplace.  Indeed, the only Noe-19 we have ever offered before was this same coin about 4 years ago (gee, time flies).

Now, as then, we think this is a pretty nice example of a variety that tends to come with some striking weakness, rough surfaces or other issues.  And while this piece is weak at the upper obverse and corresponding portion of the reverse, the major design elements are pretty clear, the date is bold and the overall eye-appeal is good.

In particular, the planchet is attractive and nearly perfectly round, and the design is well-entered.  The color is pleasing too, with rich gray fields contrasting nicely with the lighter silvery-gray devices.

In all, a neat piece, and one that would be difficult and expensive to obtain better.
