Noe-1, as noted, the definitive Oak Tree Shilling variety in the opinion of your author. Considered to be Rarity-3.
With rich silvery-gray color, original luster in the protected areas and some pretty blue and golden toning on both the obverse and reverse.
Struck on a slightly oval planchet as is sometimes seen on this variety, and as a result slightly weak at the right and left edges, but sharp in the centers and most impressive as such.
Ex Stack’s October 2005 sale of the Ford Collection, lot #15, where it realized $25,300.
$26,500
