Noe-9, W-500, considered to be Rarity-5 as a variety, but noted as "R-7 at least for the broad planchet variety" in the 2002 Hain catalog description of this piece.  67.5 grains.

And this certainly is struck on a wide planchet, with considerable extra metal extending beyond the outer beaded border on both the obverse and reverse.

Rich coin gray and all original in appearance, though with some unevenness of strike, some minor planchet cracks as made, and a small depression above the date.  And while this example is not perfect, we doubt you could find a better and more extensively pedigreed example of this rare variant.

Ex Stack’s January 2002 sale of the Hain Family Collection, lot #33 where it realized $5,462.50; earlier ex New Netherland’s June 1967 59th sale; earlier F.C.C. Boyd; earlier Hillyer Ryder; earlier Tom Elder’s October 1924 sale, lot #2066.

$6,975
