KM-10 variety, Philip III type. Struck at the Potosi mint.
As we’ve said through the years we don’t handle many Cobs because, while historic and academically interesting, the overwhelming majority do not meet our aesthetic standards. In other words, they’re just too ugly to list, misshapen, unevenly struck, cleaned and generally unappealing.
But this is about the roundest, most evenly struck, most appealing example we’ve seen, with lovely old multi-colored toning on the obverse and reverse.
