Concept:
Certainly the bizarro image of a man peering through bony fingers on the obverse of this cool, early 18th century German medal had to be the focus of this week’s ad, and so your ad caption team tried hard to oblige.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
As is sometimes the case when we are presented with a numismatic item for which writing a caption seems easy, it isn’t.

And so we struggled with this one, first with some inappropriate though finger-related ‘read between the lines’ captions, and later with some ill-considered and frankly real stretch ‘Vulcan mind-meld’ ideas.

So when finally confronted with the ad deadline, we went the safe route with the caption in our final ad.
