Concept:
Wow – talk about an exclusive club. In the looooong history of CRO we’ve handled maybe a dozen proof colonial coins, including a unique 1767 French Colonies Copper Sou, a few 1794 and 1795 Talbot, Alum & Lee Cents, and five or six 1773 Virginia Pennies, of which the one featured in this week’s ad is by far the finest with superb über-gem surfaces and lovely old blue toning on the obverse and reverse.

So of course we had to highlight it in this week’s ad.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
We knew we were going with this general concept, though our first effort was more broad with “How many 18th century proof coins do you own?“.

Before we decided to narrow it down further to colonials with the version in our final ad.
