October 13, 2013: "Likable Ike"

Concept:
We thought this was kind of a layup this week, as we have here an amazingly lustrous, all-but-perfect, old-holdered and thoroughly CAC-ified Ike, and a seemingly easy opportunity to come up with some kind of variant of Ike’s catchy campaign slogan ‘We Like Ike’.

But when it came time to actually write one, it become surprisingly difficult, resulting in a final caption that none of our crack advertising team were all that crazy about. Oh well.

Captions that didn’t make the cut:
Oh there were many, starting with the minor modification "We really, really like Ike."

But when that didn’t quite resonate, we made a detour to "Bald is Beautfiul.", which though appropriate for this coin just didn’t seem right to me.

Leading us back to Liking Ike with the caption in our final ad.
