Newcomb-9, the so-called ‘Head of 1838’ die variety. Considered to be Rarity-1.

This is a really cool die variety because of the diagonal die crack that bisects Ms. Liberty’s head on the obverse.

A nice coin too, with medium chocolate brown surfaces and pleasing cartwheel luster.
