Valentine-6, LM-5, Small 5¢ variety. Considered to be Rarity-2.

This specimen can be traced to Bowers’ landmark 1996 Louis Eliasberg auction where it was described as a “remarkable gem of virtually unsurpassable quality” and graded MS66.

And we can concur, while also noting that this is one of the few Eliasberg coins we can recall graded higher in the catalog than in the pedigreed early PCGS slab.
