Vlack-309 variety, struck at the Dijon mint. Described as Rarity-5 in Bob Vlack’s ‘An Illustrated Catalogue of the French Billon Coinage in the Americas’.
Most of the Half Sou Marques offered are the relatively common 1740-BB issue, but this is a rare and seldom seen date and mint in stunning, proof-like, near gem condition with some vibrant toning on the obverse and reverse.
Hands down the finest and most eye-appealing example of this denomination we have ever seen.
Note that this coin has been verified by CAC.
