A popular denomination named for the Guinea region in West Africa from where much of the gold used to make the coins was sourced. With 1776 being the most sought after date in the series (at least for American collectors).
And this is a nice, original and quite appealing example acquired by us at a recent coin party (yes, there is such a thing!).
