The Gothic Crown is one of the most distinctive, desirable and sought after issues in the British series, and quite rare with a total mintage of lettered edge proofs of just 8,000 pieces.

With a portrait of Victoria on the obverse surrounded by Gothic style lettering which translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Briton’s, Defender of the Faith”, with “May God guard these united, in the year of our Lord 1847” on the reverse.

And this is a nice, original, lightly circulated, coin gray and relatively affordable example of an issue which gets extreeeeemely pricey in higher grades.
