Levon I type, struck at the Sis Mint.
Admittedly we do not list a large number of Armenian coins, but we could not resist this exceptional, thousand year-old hammered issue with a totally cool image of Levon I seated on a leonine throne on the obverse, and a couple more lions on the reverse doing a back to back thing around a patriarchal cross.
And while most of these are weakly struck, worn and uninspired gray in color, this one is extremely well made for the issue, perfectly centered, sharply struck (hammered even) with vibrant and dramatic multi-colored toning perfectly highlighting this intricate design.
